Why use organic cotton?
Cotton is often seen as a 'natural' product. However, it is estimated that conventional cotton production accounts for almost one quarter of global insecticide use. Growing conventional cotton requires the use of enormous amounts of chemical pesticides & fertilisers and has high water usage for irrigation. Conversion of conventional cotton into clothes & textiles again utilises toxic chemicals at each stage. Organically grown cotton is cotton grown in soil that has been certified free from pesticides & fertilisers for at least three years. Organic farming uses less fossil fuels than conventional agriculture and works alongside nature to help reduce the impact of reaching our air, soil and water. Organic cotton is the natural choice for baby’s delicate and sensitive skin; it’s pure, strong and super soft.

Are Ecosprout products certified?
Yes, GOTS Certified
The Global Organic Textile Standard. Our vision is that organic textiles will become a significant part of everyday life, enhancing people’s lives and the environment.
Our mission is the development, implementation, verification, protection and promotion of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
This standard stipulates requirements throughout the supply chain for both ecology and labour conditions in textile and apparel manufacturing using organically produced raw materials. Organic production is based on a system of farming that maintains and replenishes soil fertility without the use of toxic, persistent pesticides and fertilizers. In addition, organic production relies on adequate animal husbandry and excludes genetic modification.
GOTS Labeling of products is only used when all criteria has been followed and gone through strict testing protocols.
The result: End consumers know the product is authentically organic
