Could the Safe T Sleep Sleepwrap be mistaken as a sleep positioner?
The Safe T Sleep Sleepwrap baby wrap is sometimes mistaken as a sleep positioner. However, it is in essence simply a swaddling wrap it simply wraps snuggly around baby allowing total free limb and hip movement including all natural movement at each stage of development.
Concerns about baby’s developmental movement are good concerns. However, the Safe T Sleep Sleepwrap is NOT to be confused with the baby ‘body’ wedge' products that were banned by the USA FDA approximately 12 years ago.
The Safe T Sleep Sleepwrap is simply a wrap, which allows all natural movement for newborn - 2years of age at each stage of baby’s development.
See FAQ on this here.
Some people misunderstand the product as it is difficult to see the level of movement a baby has by just looking at pictures.
Once people see the Sleepwrap baby wrap in action, their concerns turn to praise... especially when they hear that Safe T Sleep products enjoy a 100% safety success record since its conception in 1976 and it's delivery onto the market in 1992.
DECADES of safety success!
Not one fatality, cot accident! This says it all and is just wonderful.
Hundreds of thousands of happy, less anxious parents and safer, more restful sleeping babies, including Medical Professionals, Nurses and their families and our own NZ PRIME MINISTER Jacinda Ardern thinks so too. Jacinda deliberately approached us recently to say: “Thank you so much for a wonderful product; I had three of your wraps for little Neve".
Many safety conscious parents, educators and carers use the Safe T Sleep Sleepwrap.
To Summarize Safe T Sleep is NOT a sleep positioner. There is a US article that defines the banned ‘positioners’ as’ “foam wedges or tubes attached to a mat that the baby sleeps on, padded plastic tubes with mesh on the sides, or a wedge-shaped mat with side bolsters... a barrier on either side of the baby to prevent rolling" – THIS IS NOT DESCRIBING THE SAFE T SLEEP SLEEPWRAP! Safe T Sleep is not to be confused with banned 'positioners'.
Babies are never "strapped to their back" and when they mature, you can teach them to roll over within the wrap, to allow the unrestricted movement they need and simply prevent crabbing down under a blanket or into a corner or against a hard surface, a nice thing for a more mature infant to have, yet eliminating the risk of accidental suffocation.
This product is 100% full-proof when used correctly to help prevent accidents and give peace of mind to parents of particularly restless or active babies – they can now sleep at night, you get to sleep at night. It is not designed as a SIDS/SUDI preventer but is a great addition if your baby is in that over-active category or wriggles around a lot and you're worried about it.
