Dear Mrs Rutherford
I read the article in the Saturday Herald a couple of weeks ago about the Safe-T-Sleep wrap. My Son is almost ten months now and has used a Safe-T-Sleep since he was on month old. We first noticed the wrap while looking around the Baby Factory in Pamure for portable cots and noticed one lying on one of the cots. After looking at the concept we decided it could be exactly what we needed and was more within our price range, so splashed out and bought one. I guess that one was one of the first ones to come on the open market.
We initially bought the single bed size, as we figured that most places we went to would have a single bed that we could put him down to sleep on. Folding away practically to nothing the Safe-T-Sleep has been wonderful and has more than lived up to our expectations.
We soon realised the Safe-T-Sleep had another advantage and it wasn’t long before we bought a second one, (an improved design – especially the velcro fastening being a wider panel that he doesn’t pull undone), this time for daily use on the cot at home. My son has a hiatus hernia and consequently spills constantly throughout the day. When he was younger and could roll over onto his tummy, but couldn’t roll back, he would panic and spill dreadfully. We would often find him lying face down in the spill, milk spread from his forehead to right around his ears. We were constantly fearful that he would breathe it in and drown himself. This is when the Safe-T-Sleep really came into its own. While allowing him some movement, it held him on his back so that the spilling would not be such a problem to him, or such a worry to us.
Now, at almost ten months, our son is still spilling his food, but not usually while he is asleep. However, we are still continuing to use the Safe-T-Sleep in his cot at home as it is the only way of keeping him under the blankets all night long during these cold winter nights. While my friends are continually complaining that their children have woken up early because they’ve kicked off the blankets during the night and have gotten cold, my husband and I enjoy a full eight hours undisturbed sleep, content in the knowledge that our son is safe and warm, and this has been the case since he was nine weeks old.
So, please accept our congratulations and thanks for having invented the Safe-T-Sleep, and having stuck with it through those early days and all the difficulties you came across. We are two very grateful parents and are spreading the news about the Safe-T-Sleep to all our friends.
Yours sincerely,
Adrienne Smith
