19. Can I put my baby straight into a cot (rather than bassinet  first)?

Yes many of parents decide to put their baby straight into a cot. This saves a lot of money as you not need to buy a bassinet plus all that goes with it, saving a few hundred dollars! Parents also use the Safe T Sleep™ Sleepwrap® product on ‘big’ beds rather than buying a portable cot when travelling/or visiting saving another few hundred dollars.

To make a nice cosy ‘nest’ when sleeping a tiny baby in a big cot or bed many parents swaddle (wrap) their newborn baby and then put the Safe T Sleep™ Sleepwrap® product over the top.  You will need to follow earlier product instructions carefully and/or see the other options listed in Question 12.
